4.2.8.2 S-Plan Interface Enhancements (SR4436)
A number of changes have been made to enhance the S-Plan Interface functionality. In summary
these are:
New option to filter data extracted by Controller.
New option to delay Production Order extract until order status ‘In Progress’.
Ability to define the min/max time gap allowed between S-Plan scheduled operation stages
New TROPOS enquiry to highlight changeover routines created by S-Plan.
Full details for each change are listed below:
New option to filter data extracted by Controller.
A new option to filter by Controller the data that is extracted to S-Plan is now available. Prior to
this enhancement, all schedule products were extracted. This new optional filter allows greater
flexibility in the management of S-Plan products.
New transaction SPCO (Maintain Controllers) enables S-Plan Interface Controllers to be defined for
a business. If none are defined, all schedule products are considered by the interface. A schedule
product is one with ORDRAISPOL (Schedule Basis) of ‘S’ or ‘M’, which is maintained via IPPM
(Provisioning Params).
If S-Plan Interface Controllers are defined, only schedule products for those controllers are
considered by the interface. For the static data extract, the product’s Controller defined via IPPM is
used to determine if the product and its processes are to be considered for extraction. For the
dynamic data extract, the Controller defined against the production order is used. This is defined
against the order when it is raised, defaulting from the product’s IPPM parameters, and cannot
subsequently be changed.
All S-Plan Interface Controllers for a business are shown by SPIQ (Interface Parameters Enquiry)
which has a new ‘Show Controllers’ option.
New option to delay Production Order extract until order status ‘In Progress’.
A new option to choose whether production orders are extracted at order raising or when they have
progressed to a status of ‘In Progress’ is now available. Prior to this enhancement, production
orders were extracted at order addition. This new option gives greater control over the data that is
passed to S-Plan. For example, if production orders do not need to be scheduled until materials have
been issued, extraction can now be delayed until production orders are ‘In Progress’. This reduces
the number of production orders being scheduled at any given time.
The new ‘Order Status’ parameter on SPIF (Interface Parameters) can be set to 5 for ‘Committed’
or 2 for ‘In Progress’. It defaults to 5 for ‘Committed’ which reflects the way that production order
extraction was carried out prior to this enhancement. The new parameter also appears on SPDE
(Dynamic Data Extract), its value being defaulted from SPIF, but can be overridden.
The new parameter applies to all methods of production order extraction. If Nett Change extraction
is in use, then AUDM (Maintain Audit Log Data) details must be defined for both WOIS (Issue
Production Order) and WORL (Release Production Order) if orders are to be extracted with a status
of ‘In Progress’.
