Chimney sweeping
To maintain safe and efficient use of the appliance, the chimney/flue must be inspected and swept at
least once a year by a qualified chimney sweep.
If the appliance is used continuously throughout the year, or it is used to burn wood, more frequent
sweeping is recommended.
The best time to have the chimney swept is at the start of the heating season.
The chimney, any connecting flue pipe and the appliance flue ways, if incorporated, must be regularly
cleaned.
If the chimney is believed to have previously served an open fire it must be swept extra careful.
This should be done by a registered chimney sweep, who will issue you with a certificate.
