4.1 Main Components
CAUTION Check that the pistol is unloaded (magazine removed from pistol and
chamber clear). Also ensure that the magazine is unloaded.
4.1.1 Field-Stripping Disassembly
Remove the magazine and unload the pistol. Lock the slide in the open position. Look into the
chamber and down through the magazine well. Verify that no ammunition remains in the pistol
• Rotate the take down lever clockwise downwards
until it stops (4.1.1 Fig. 1).

• Grasp the slide from the top and remove the slide
from the frame by pulling it slightly rearward then
forward while being careful to retain the recoil guide
rod assembly (4.1.1 Fig. 2).

• Remove the recoil guide rod assembly from below
the barrel while taking up the spring pressure
(4.1.1 Fig. 3).
• Remove the barrel from the slide.
