Attach crossbar (8) to guardrail (9) using extra-large bolts (C) with large washers (B). Repeat this step for second crossbar (8) and second guardrail (9). Attach double crossbar (7) and crossbar (8) with guardrail (9) to posts (1,2) using extra-small bolts (A) with small washers (G). Note that the end of guardrail (9) with the manufacturer label will attach to post (2).
Attach double crossbar (21) and crossbar (8) with guardrail (9) to posts (3,4) using extra-small bolts (A) with small washers (G). Screw double-headed bolts (D) into posts (2,4).
Screw ladder rungs (13) onto double-headed bolts (D). Attach ladder rail (6) to ladder rungs (13) using small bolts (E) with small washers (G). Secure ladder rail (6) to double crossbar (7) using small bolt (E) with small washer (G). Secure ladder rail (6) to crossbar (7) using extra-small bolt (A) with small washer (G).
Screw ladder rungs (13) onto double-headed bolts (D). Attach ladder rail (6) to ladder rungs (13) using small bolts (E) with small washers (G). Secure ladder rail (6) to double crossbar (21) using small bolt (E) with small washer (G). Secure ladder rail (6) to crossbar (8) using extra-small bolt (A) with small washer (G).
Attach crossbars (10,11) to posts (1,2) using extra-small bolts (A) with small washers (G).
Attach crossbars (10,11) to posts (3,4) using extra-small bolts (A) with small washers (G).
Insert mattress support bars (15) into the provided slots of crossbars (10). Secure mattress support bars (15) in place by snapping plastic tab locks (H) into the slots of crossbars (10). It may be necessary to apply more pressure to some plastic tab locks than others.
Snap plastic links (J) onto mattress support bars (15).
Attach guardrail (5) to posts (1,3) using extra-small bolts (A) with small washers (G). Attach guardrail (5) to crossbar (10) using extra-large bolts (C) with large washers (B).
Attach guardrail (5) to posts (2,4) using extra-small bolts (A) with small washers (G). Attach guardrail (5) to crossbar (10) using extra-large bolts (C) with large washers (B).
Attach futon adjustment mechanisms (12,18) to the bed frame using medium bolts (K) with large washers (B)and nuts (L) with large washers (B). Using wrenches (P,Q) together, tighten medium bolts (K) and nuts (L)firmly. Attach foam pads (F) to bed frame as desired.
Slide futon frame portion (17) into futon frame portion (16) and secure using extra-small bolts (A). Slide futon frame portion (19) into futon frame portion (14) and secure using extra-small bolts (A).
Attach the futon frames from the previous step to the futon adjustment mechanisms using large bolts (M) with large washers (B) and nuts (L) with large washers (B). Using wrenches (P,Q) together, tighten large bolts (M) and nuts (L) firmly.
Insert connecting arms (T) into the futon frames.
Raise the futon frames into a sitting position. Insert connecting arms (T) into the futon frames.
