MagicWatch
Six systems to choose from
Is there enough space, or not? When reversing in awk-
ward places, this is always the question. MagicWatch
parking aids will tell you precisely how close you are. They
take the stress out of driving and reduce the risk of bumps
and scrapes. Six parking aid models are available,
including two systems with wireless signal transmission.
Pick the one that best suits your vehicle and needs. The
overview on page 123 gives you all you need to know at
a glance.
How does MagicWatch work?
The parking aid is activated as soon as reverse gear is
engaged. It measures the distance to an obstacle with the
help of four ultrasonic sensors mounted on the rear of
your vehicle. Signal transmission to the signal generator is
wireless or hard-wired. MagicWatch warns you if your
vehicle comes too close to an obstacle. Depending on the
system, this is done by an acoustic signal (MWE 900,
MWE 910, MWE 2000, MW 2500) or by an acoustic and
visual signal (MW 650, MWE 650).

MagicWatch models MW 650 and
MWE 650 feature Digital Signal
Memory (DSM). These parking aids
are able to “memorise” smaller
objects fitted to the vehicle (e.g.
tow-bars or bodywork extensions)
and take them into account when
checking the area behind the vehicle.
Your advantage: no “false alarms”
while reversing.
The parking aid models MWE 900,
MWE 910, MWE 2000 and MW 2500
give you the option to shift the stop
line up to 40 cm towards the rear.
Your advantage: rear-mounted
objects protruding over the sensors
(steps, tow-bars, spare tyres, etc.)
are considered in the distance
calculation.
