MagicTouch
Driving with lights on at daytime is mandatory in
many European countries and considered a matter of
course in the interest of traffic safety. For trucks, buses
and other utility vehicles without factory-fitted
daytime running lights (DRL), Dometic WAECO offers
the MagicTouch daytime light control for retrofitting.
When you start the ignition MagicTouch TFL 100 automa-
tically activates the complete vehicle lighting (dipped
headlights, parking lights, sidelights, number plate lights).
Only during the actual engine start the daytime light is
shortly switched off. There is no need to operate the
original light switch, but its function is completely is
retained. When the light is switched on manually, the
daytime light control is deactivated.
Extra convenience is provided by the coming home
function: when the ignition has been turned off, the
dipped headlights stay on for a selectable period (0 to
120 sec.)

Is driving with DRL safer?
Obviously!
Large vehicles in bright daylight – how can they be overlooked? They
obviously can. Studies have revealed that, even on a clear day, vehicles
driving with dimmed headlights on during daylight hours are perceived
faster than unlighted vehicles, and the risk of being overlooked is
lower. Our example illustrates the effect under “normal” daylight
conditions.
