5.7 Draining Fuel Tank & Carburetor

5.7.1 Make sure the engine is turned “OFF” and not running. The engine
carburetor (a) is found behind the Air Cleaner.
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. You can be seriously
injured when handling fuel. Keep fuel away from heat, sparks and
flame. Handle fuel only outdoors. Wipe up spills immediately.
5.7.2 Place an approved gasoline container below the carburetor and use a
funnel to avoid spilling fuel.
5.7.3 Move the fuel valve lever to the “ON” position.
5.7.4 Loosen the carburetor drain screw (b) by using a screwdriver (d) and
drain fuel through a hose (c) into an approved gasoline container. After
draining, tighten the carburetor drain screw (b).
