Changing the returnlter element
The hydraulic system is equipped with a return lter Item 2
(Fig. 86). It is connected to an indicator light. An installed
bypass valve secures the return valve against positive pres-
sure.
ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE
Let the pressure from the hydraulic uid reservoir
escape by opening the hydraulic uidller neck
cap Item 1 (Fig. 83) before you unscrew the cover
of thelter housing Item a (Fig. 87). Otherwise,
hydraulic uid will be forced out of the lter housing
and could get into the environment.
Dispose of the old lter element and any leaking
hydraulic uid in an ecologically sound manner.
Replace the lter element of the return lter Item
b. (Fig. 87) during inspections or if the indicator
light for the return lter on the instrument panel is
illuminated between inspection intervals.
After installing a new lter element, the indicator
light on the instrument panel should no longer be
illuminated.
Replace the lter element in a timely manner, as
thelter‘s effect is overridden when the bypass
valve is open.
