5.9 Cleaning the Machine
When
Clean the machine after each use.
Overview
Regular cleaning is essential for keeping the machine in serviceable condition. It is
important to remove built-up dirt, mud, and tar from the machine as soon as
possible after work has been completed.
Requirements
Machine stopped and cool to touch
Fresh, clean water supply
Pressure washer
Clean, soft cloths
Procedure
Perform the procedure below to clean the machine.
1. Use a pressure washer to remove dirt and debris from between the upper and
lower frame, and around the drums.
NOTICE: Direct, high water pressure at close range will damage certain
components on the machine. The following components should be wiped clean by
hand using a damp, clean cloth. Do not apply high pressure spray to these
components:
Oil cooler, fan, and connecting hoses
Hydraulic manifold
Electrical connectors (if equipped)
