Appendix I Power winch

Continued from the previous page.

Installing the

winch cable

Perform the procedure below to install the winch cable.

1. Pass the winch cable (g) over the top of the power winch drum (b) and through

the side hole (h).

2. Wind the winch cable around the power winch drum once.

3. Loosen the nut (j) on the winch cable retainer (k) and insert the free end of the

winch cable through the winch cable retainer so approximately 2.5 cm (1 in.) of

winch cable extends beyond the winch cable retainer as shown in the

illustration.

4. Tighten the nut on the winch cable retainer to a torque of 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.).

5. Rotate the power winch counterclockwise to take up any slack in the winch

cable, if needed.

Wiring the

power winch

Perform the procedure below to connect the wires to the power winch.

1. Attach red wire 42 from the machine to

the red (positive) wire of the power

winch.

2. Attach black wire 41 from the machine

to the to the black (negative) wire of

the power winch.

3. Replace the cover on the power

winch.
