Installing the

winch cable

Perform the procedure below to install the winch cable.

1. Pass the winch cable (g) over the top of the standard winch drum (b) and

through the side hole (h).

2. Wind the winch cable around the standard winch drum once.

3. Loosen the nut (j) on the winch cable retainer (k) and insert the free end of the

winch cable through the winch cable retainer so approximately 2.5 cm (1 in.) of

winch cable extends beyond the winch cable retainer as shown in the

illustration.

4. Tighten the nut on the winch cable retainer to a torque of 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.).

5. Rotate the standard winch counterclockwise to take up any slack in the winch

cable.
