16.8 Installing the Standard Winch
Materials
needed
 Standard winch
 Hardware bag 6
Installing the
standard
winch
Perform the procedure below to install the standard winch.
1. Align the standard winch handle (a) to the side of the standard winch drum (b)
and secure the winch handle with a nut (c).
2. Fasten the standard winch to the mast with the following hardware from bag 6
as shown in the illustration:
 Three M10 x 25 screw (d)
 Three M10 lock washers (e)
 Three M10 lock nuts (f)
3. Tighten the M10 x 25 screw to a torque of 58 Nm (42.8 ft. lb.).
Reversing the
standard
winch handles
The standard winch handles (a) are installed backward to protect them from
shipping damage. Reverse each standard winch handle orientation as follows:
1. Remove the nut (c) and remove the standard winch handle from the standard
winch.
2. Turn the standard winch handle so the handgrip is oriented as shown in the
illustration.
3. Reinstall the standard winch handle and the nut.
