SCHEMATIC AND WIRING DIAGRAM SYMBOL LEGEND
WIRE JUMP: Used to show wires that are adjacent but are not connected to each other.
CONNECTION POINT: Used to show wires that are connected to each other by common means such as a lug, wire nut or crimp-on
connector.

TERMINAL IDENTIFIER: Identifies specific terminals on components with labeled terminals.

COLOR AND WIRE NUMBER DESIGNATIONS: Identifies wires by number and color to simplify troubleshooting.

GENERIC LOAD: Relays, Motors and electrically operated valves etc.
CONNECTION POINT: A general connection point symbol used primarily on schematics to represent common connections such as wire
nuts, lug screws or piggy-backed disconnects.
TERMINAL STRIP CONNECTION POINT: Provides a transitional connection from Main Control Panel internal wiring and Main Control
Panel exterior wiring.
Note: Terminal strip connection point numbers are the same as the wires attached

YELLOW WIRE NUT: Used to connect several wires. It is larger than the common orange wire nut and typically used with up to six 16 –
18 gauge wires.
ORANGE WIRE NUT: Used to connect two or more 16 – 18 gauge wires.
DUPLEX OUTLET: A receptacle used to plug in various loads such as a strobe light, Pump Pack or small resistance heaters..

ROTARY SWITCH: A common selector switch for various functions such as multi speed motors.
WIRE CAGES: Used to connect up to five 16 – 18 gauge wires.
