6.2 HTF LOW LEVEL FAULT AND LIGHTS
(Refer to Appendix A-18)
Perform the following when HTF LOW LEVEL FAULT light (refer to control panel) is it: (Photo 6-1)
1. Turn BURNER, PUMP and REWIND MOTOR switches OFF.
2. Locate and correct cause of low HTF condition (i.e. fix the leak).
3. Restore HTF level to normal operating level per Section 4.1, ADDING HEAT TRANSFER FLUID.
4. Depress MANUAL RESET button to clear low level condition. Reset will complete in 15 seconds.
NOTE: Call your Ground Heaters Distributor if HTF level is between MIN and MAX and:
Low Level Shutdown device will not reset;
LOW LEVEL FAULT light (refer to control panel) remains on after depressing the Low level
Shutdown device RESET button; or
Burner control locks out the burner and will not remain reset.
6.2.1 Low Level Shutdown Device
The LOW LEVEL FAULT light is activated for 15
seconds after initial power up and then goes out.
Reset is accomplished by pressing the RESET
button for 1 to 2 seconds or by momentarily shutting
OFF BREAKER 1.
6.2.2 Testing the Low Level Shutdown Device
Power up the main control panel by following the
steps outlined in Section 2.4, START UP.
Observe the LOW WATER and POWER lights on
the bottom of the Low Level Shutdown Device.
Ensure that the Green POWER light is ON and the
Red LOW WATER light is OFF.
LOW LEVEL FAULT
Press and hold the TEST button while monitoring the red LOW WATER light.
The red LOW WATER light will flash 10 times followed by the main control panel LOW WATER light will
be on.
The green POWER light and the LOW WATER light will both be ON.
Verify that the LOW LEVEL FAULT light is ON at the main control panel.
Turn the PUMP and the BURNER switches ON one at a time at the main control panel to verify that the
PUMP AND BURNER ARE NOT
OPERATIONAL.
RESET
Turn the PUMP and BURNER switches OFF.
Momentarily press the RESET button. The LOW WATER and POWER lights will flash simultaneously 4
times and the POWER light will return to normal operating mode. The LOW WATER light will continue to
flash an additional 14 times and return to normal operating mode. The POWER light will be ON, the LOW
WATER light will be OFF and the LOW LEVEL FAULT light at the main control panel will be OFF.
Turn the burner switch ON and the burner will start after a five second delay. After the burner starts, turn
the BURNER switch OFF.
Turn the pump switch ON and the pump will start immediately. Turn the PUMP switch OFF.
If the test does not conform to the instructions and results as outlined above, call your Ground Heaters
distributor.
