11 Operation and use

1. Switch the machine off with the ON/OFF switch.
2. Insert the plug into the plug receptacle.
Perform the following function tests:
1. Push the test button on the Bodyguard®.
 The indicator light turns off when the protection through the Bodyguard® is operational. The mains
side power supply is cut off.
 The indicator light doesn't turn off if a fault exists in the Bodyguard®, see chapter Faults.
2. Pull plug out of plug receptacle.
3. Reconnect the machine to the power supply.
11.3.2 Commissioning the machine.
1. Take up the machine by the protection hose - hold in the vicinity of the vibration head.
2. Switch the equipment on with the ON/OFF switch.
11.4 Operation
In accordance with the intended purpose, the operator's intended location is by the protection hose of
the machine.
WARNING
Electrical voltage.
Injury from electric shock.
 Check power cable and extension cable for damage.
 Only use extension cables whose grounded conductor is connected to the plug and
coupling (only for machines of class rating I, see chapter Technical data).
WARNING
Machine start-up.
Risk of injury from uncontrolled start-up of machine.
 Switch the machine off before connecting to the electric power supply.
NOTICE
The indicator light on the Bodyguard® illuminates red when the machine is ready for
operation.
