Introduction 1
Overview
This manual provides instructions for the installation and operation of the RF-O! transmitter.
These instructions include configuration and alignment instructions, some troubleshooting
techniques and fault analysis using FIPS commands, and the removal and replacement
procedures of faulty modules.
Audience
This manual is for the use of personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of the
RF-O! transmitter. It assumes that personnel performing the operation and maintenance
procedures contained in this manual have a knowledge of paging systems and a background
in the field of electronics.

This manual contains the following chapters:
Chapter 1, "Introduction" describes the manual.
Chapter 2, "System Description" presents an overview of the Wireless Messaging System,
a brief description and block diagram of each of the modules of the RF-O! transmitter
along with a brief description of the different options and features, the specifications, and
the electrical requirements of the RF-O! transmitter.
Chapter 3, "Preinstallation" provides information needed in selecting and establishing a
site for installing the RF-O! transmitter, grounding requirements and instructions for GPS
antenna evaluation.
Chapter 4, "Installation" provides a diagram of each model of the RF-O! transmitter, a list
of the required tools, equipment and parts needed to successfully install the
RF-O! paging station, and grounding and antenna connections.
Chapter 5, "Operation" provides information on operating and configuring the RF-O!
transmitter.
