For ap plications to p rovide 3D st ereoscop ic vid eo and /or head t r acking,
these capabilities must be enabled specifically for each application.
Types of VR Support
Vuzix VR support can be enabled in two ways:
Native Support: Stereosc op ic 3D vid eo and /or head tr acking supp ort
written directly into an application by the application’s creator.
Vuzix Extension: Stereoscop ic 3D video and /or head t r acking sup p ort
added to the program by a 3
rd
party or independent programmer. Vuzix
Extensions are enab led thr ough the VR Manager software p r ovid ed with the
VR920 eyewear or downloaded from the Vuzix website (www.vuzix.com).
Ideally, Native Support is included in the original release of an application.
This generally provides the best possible 3D and tracking performance and
allows for configuration op t ions t o p ersonalize your VR exp er ience.
Native Support programs do not require Vuzix Extensions and therefore are
not inc luded in the Monit or section of the VR Manager software.
When a p r ogram d oes not provid e Native Sup por t, Vuzix or other 3
rd
party
developers are often able to ad d 3D video and /or trac king supp ort
through a pr ogramming interface c alled a Vuzix Ext ension. Vuzix Extensions
rely upon an applications ability to except external commands and
therefore cannot be created for all applications.
Vuzix Extensions, published by Vuzix, are list ed in the Monitor section of the
VR Manager Software. See the VR Manager section of this documentation for
instr uct ions on enabling Vuzix Extensions and ob taining ad dit ional
information on the supp ort offered b y each.
A list ing of known Native Supp ort and Vuzix Extension supp or ted
