1. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using your telephone equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury, including the following: 1. Read and understand all the instructions. 2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product. 3. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. 4.
2. SETTING UP THE TELEPHONE 2.1 Package contents The package contains the following items: ・ 1 Handset ・ 1 Charger ・ 1 AC power adapter 1 Rechargeable battery pack 1 Chinese user’s manual 1 English user’s manual Location For maximum coverage and reduce the interference, here are some guidelines you should consider when you place the base unit, - place it at a convenient, high, and central location with no obstructions between the handset and base unit in an indoor environment.
2.3 Setting up 2.3.1 Connecting the charger 1. Plug the power supply into the charger. 2. Plug the power supply cord into the wall outlet not controlled by a wall switch. Note: Always use the cables provided in the box.

2.5 Setting date and time You will need to set the correct time and date so that you can get to know when you received answering machine messages (applicable to model with answering machine) or call list entries. 2.5.1 Change the Date Format U/D to select HS SETTINGS. 3.2 Handset LCD Display Icons and Symbols The LCD display gives you information on the current status of the telephone. Getting to know your phone Steadily on when the handset is within range of the base. Flashes when the handset is out of range of the base or not registered to the base. Steadily on when an intercom is in progress. Flashes when there is an incoming internal call or being put on hold. Off when the intercom call goes on hook. Steadily on indicates a call is in progress.
Steadily on indicates that the keypad is locked. Off indicates that the keypad is unlocked. Steadily on when there are newly received Voice Message Waiting (VMWI) not yet read. Off when all the new voice messages have been read. Steadily on indicates the battery is fully charged. Whole icon flashes when the battery performs initial charging. Internal block icon flashes when the battery is in final charging stage. Steadily on indicates the battery needs charging.

4 USING ADDITIONAL HANDSETS You can add new VT2030 accessory handsets to your VT2032 system, but each device must be registered with the telephone base before use. Up to five handsets can be registered to the same base. When first purchased, each expansion handset shows "NOT REGISTERED". You may need to charge the handset before registering to the telephone base. 4.1 Registration 1. Press and U/D on the handset to select REGISTRATION. 2.
4.2.1 Intercom Another Handset 1. In idle mode, press ]/ RIGHT SOFT KEY and the numbers of the registered handsets and base will display except the calling handset. 2. Enter the desired handset number to intercom with. 3. The called handset rings and press T on the called handset to establish the internal call. Note: If only two handsets are registered to the base station, press 4.2.2 ]/ RIGHT SOFT KEY will call another handset immediately. Intercom the Base 1. In idle mode, press 2.
4.2.4 Transfer an External Call from Handset to Handset During an external call: 1. Press and U/D to select INTERCOM. 2. Press OK to select the desired handset to intercom with. 3. The external call is put on hold automatically and the called handset rings. 4. Press T on the called handset to establish an internal call. O on the calling handset or put the calling handset on the charging cradle to end the current call with the external party. 6. The external call is transferred to the called handset.
4.2.7 Make a 3-way Conference Call The conference call feature allows one external call to be shared with two handsets (in intercom). The three parties can share the conversation and no network subscription is required. During an external call: 1. Follow Steps 1 to 4 in section 4.2.4. 2. Press and hold - on the calling handset to establish the conference call. Note: Any handset hangs up during a conference call will leave the other handset still in connection with the external call. 4.2.
