Dear Parent: Ever notice the look on your baby’s face when they learn something new through their own discovery? These self-accomplished moments are a parent’s greatest reward. To help fulfill them, VTech® created the Infant Learning series of toys.
INTRODUCTION The VTech® Soothe & Surprise Nature Light™ is a soothing crib light designed for babies birth and up. The VTech® Soothe & Surprise Nature Light™ uses a combination of soothing classical melodies, nature sounds, songs, and calming light play to help relax baby and send them off to a peaceful slumber. The unit also features a built-in sound sensor that activates soothing melodies when baby awakes.

GETTING STARTED BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF. 2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screws. 3.
• • • • • • • • • Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not use batteries of different types. Remove batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
1. Place the unit in the crib bringing both straps over the top rail. Slip the top of the strap under the slot on the back of the unit and secure. Repeat this procedure for the second strap. You can adjust the hanging height by choosing the appropriate hole on the top of each strap. Instructions & Activities 2. Pull slightly on the unit to make sure both straps have been securely fastened. The unit should be snug against the crib rail. Please check the unit frequently to ensure it is still secure. 3.
2. Make sure the unit is turned OFF ( ). Use a screwdriver to open the cover. Instructions & Activities 3. Gently remove the old light bulb and the protection ring. 4. Attach the protection ring to the new light bulb. Carefully put the new light bulb into the light bulb socket. The maximum power of the light bulb is 2.4 watt. For best performance, replace with a 2.4 watt, 4.8 volt, 0.3A bulb. 5. Replace the light bulb cover and secure the screw using a screwdriver.

AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF To preserve battery life, the VTech® Soothe & Surprise Nature Light™ will automatically power-down after the pre-set time is reached and there is no input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the moon button or sliding the on/off/mode selector switch. ACTIVITIES 1. Slide the on/off/mode selector switch to turn the unit on. You will hear "It’s lullaby time" followed by the related response of the selected mode.
3. In addition to the soothing atmosphere and sounds, the VTech ® Soothe & Surprise Nature Light™ features a builtin sound sensor. Once the selected time setting has finished, the unit will automatically power-down. The sound sensor will re-activate the program if continuous background noise is detected for approximately 7 seconds. Only melodies will be heard. 1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. 2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and heat source. 3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time. 4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
