Synapse Installation Guide 12 System Installation Overview
Placement Issues
Avoid placing any Synapse component too close to the following:
 Communication devices, such as television sets, DVDs, or other cordless telephones
 Excessive heat sources
 Noise sources, such as a window with traffic outside, motors, microwave ovens, refrigerators, or fluorescent lighting
 Excessive dust sources, such as a workshop or garage
 Excessive moisture
 Extremely low temperature
 Mechanical vibration or shock, such as on top of the washing machine or workbench
[ATA] Placement Considerations
You can install the optional ATA near the PSTN Gateway, or near one of the third-party devices that are being used with it. For
example, it might be easier to connect the ATA to the fax machine in the room with the fax machine instead of running a
telephone line from the fax to an ATA located in a telephone equipment cabinet.
