GETTING STARTED: 1. Software Installation Installing from CD-ROM:(Cyber Rocket TM and Cyber Spy NotebookTM) - Insert the CD-ROM that comes with your product and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with software installation. - If the installation program does not initiate automatically when you insert the CD, you can start the installation manually by doing the following: 2. Uninstalling the software - Press the “Start” button on your desktop and navigate to “All Programs.” - Locate and find “VTech Community.” - Click the “Uninstall” icon to uninstall the software. 2. Account Creation Account Creation Planet VTech requires you to have an account to login and create your Avatar. Creating an account requires parental information as well as the child’s information. - Enter a valid e-mail address to begin account registration.
- Fill in the information as instructed. Login Name: Your account login name will be the same as the e-mail address you entered. Password: Please enter the password you wish to use to login to your account. Account Creation - Check your e-mail account for mail from Planet VTech. Read the instructions and click on the link provided to proceed with the registration process. Address: We do not sell our members’ information.
- Multiple Kid Accounts can be entered under the same Parental Account for individual children in your household. Each of these accounts will contain each child’s individual records and status on Planet VTech. Click “Add Kid’s Account” to create a new account for each child.
- First Name: Enter the first name of your child for identity purposes. - Planet VTech Avatar Name: This will be the name your child will use to login to Planet VTech. After creating a Kid’s Account, you will be prompted to enter your Product Key Code (Cyber RocketTM, Cyber SpyTM, and ClickboxTM owners) or your Citizen ID code from the card included in your VTech product! This code will only open one Kid’s Account, and can only be used once.
You will be taken back to the Kid’s Account listing page. Click the “Save & Exit” button to complete the registration process. 3. Login to Your Account The auto-login feature is designed for easy access to Planet VTech enabled features without having to login with your user name and password every single time. After completing the account registration process, just plug in the product to your computer’s USB port, and the auto-login will take care of the rest.
The Plaza: Your Avatar starts in “The Plaza.” You can visit any area of Planet VTech, but “The Plaza” is your “home base.” Click around the scene and discover new areas to explore or games to earn V.Points! Emotes: Chat: Want to chat with your friends? Click the “Chat” Icon and you can choose from a safe list of phrases to “speak” with your friends! Friend’s List: When you make new friends, you can add them to your “Friend’s List.” You can send greeting cards to all the friends on your Friend’s List, and even visit their virtual apartments! My Stuff: This helps you keep track of all your belongings. Click on the “My Stuff” button to see everything you have purchased with your V.Points.
Map: Click on the “Map” button to see a map of the entire planet. Choose where you would like to go by clicking on the highlighted places. If you want to go back to your apartment, click on the place marked “Home.” Exit: Player’s Apartment If you own the Cyber SpyTM, Cyber RocketTM, ClickboxTM or have a Citizen ID, a customizable apartment will be given to you when you create your account. Player’s Apartment Click on the “Exit” button to leave Planet VTech.
Apartment Decoration - Item Bin: The list on the far right shows you items you have purchased and can use to decorate your apartment. Click on the category list to select a specific category and see the items you own. - Rotate: Click the “Rotate” button to rotate the direction of the selected item before you place it in your apartment. - Remove: Click the “Remove” button to remove the selected item and put it back in the item bin.
The VTech Application Manager, which automatically loads onto your computer following the software installation described in the “Software Installation” section, provides a kid-safe environment while using Planet VTech. The VTech Application Manager always runs the program in full screen, so the look and feel will be the same as if you are connected through the regular Internet. You can also setup a password for exiting the browser by clicking on “File -> Preference Settings.
Password Protection Settings: Enable Password Enable or Disable password protection feature. You will be asked to input the password if it has not yet been set. Disable Password Change Password Type in the existing password along with the new password you wish to use. Then, confirm the new password in the “Confirm New Password” input box, and click “OK” to save the changes.
