INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the VTECH® LITTLE SMART Hug-A-Ball™ learning toy! This product is one of a family of high-quality LITTLE SMART® electronic learning products. BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Make sure the unit is turned off. 2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw. 3. Install 2 new “AA” (UM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.) 4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover. BATTERY NOTICE • • • • • • • Install batteries correctly observing the polarity ( +, - ) signs to avoid leakage.
TO BEGIN PLAY 1. Turn the Off/Low/High Switch to "Hello, let's have a ball!" the ( ) position for high volume or to the ( ) position for low volume. You will hear a short tune followed by “Hello, let’s have a ball!” 2. Move the ball to hear an animal sound effect followed by a melody or a spoken phrase. For example, when rolling the ball you will hear 1 of 6 animal sound effects followed by 1 of 6 random melodies. You may also hear “Hello, let’s have a ball!” The animal lights will light up with all sound.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE 1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. 2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source. 3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not being used for an extended period of time. 4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
