5.16 Auto Answer
As long as you have Auto answer set to On you can answer a call by lifting the
handset off the base. If you have switched Auto off, you will need to press / /
on the handset as well.
5.17 Lock Keypad
Lock the keypad to prevent accidental dialling while carrying the handset around.
In idle mode, press and hold . The display shows “Keypad locked”.
To unlock the keypad, press and hold . The display shows “Keypad
unlocked”.
5.18 Call Timer
Your handset will automatically time the duration of all external calls. The handset
display shows the call duration both during and for a few seconds after your call
is terminated.
5.19 Out of Range Warning
When the handset goes out of range of the base, the line will hang up if you are on
a call.
When you move back within range, the handset will automatically reconnect to
the base.
5.20 Mute
Use the mute function to turn off the microphone. You can hear the caller, but the
caller cannot hear you.
5.20.1 Mute a Call
While on a call, press on the handset, or press on the telephone base. When
mute is on, the handset and telephone base show Microphone off for a few seconds
and MUTE appears until the mute function is turned off.
5.20.2 Take a Call off Mute
Press on the handset, or press on the telephone base and resume speaking.
When mute is off, Microphone on appears temporarily on the handset and
telephone base.
Mute is automatically canceled when you end the call.
