1. Important safety instructions When using your telephone equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury, including the following: Read and understand all the instructions. 2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product. 3. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. 4.

2. SET UP THE TELEPHONE 2.
2.3 Connect the Base Station Telephone wall socket Power wall socket If you have ADSL high speed Internet service, an ADSL filter (not included) is required. Power adapter cable Line Cord 1. Plug the power cable into the base station, plug the other end of the power adapter into the wall outlet not controlled by a wall switch. 2. Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the base station and the other end into a telephone wall jack.
2.4 Connect the Charger Power adapter cable Plug the power cable into the charger base. 2. Plug the other end into the power wall socket and switch the power on. NOTE Ensure power cord is fed through the slot on the base so unit sits flush with the desk. SET UP THE TELEPHONE 1.
2.5 Install and Charge the Handset Battery 1. Slide open the battery compartment cover. 2. Place the supplied rechargeable battery in the battery compartment, with the battery connector plugged in, as shown. Slide the battery compartment cover back on until it clicks into place. 3. Place the handset on the base to charge for at least 16 hours. When the handset is fully charged the will be displayed. The Charging LED lighting up indicates that the handset is properly placed on the base.
2.6 Wall Mounting Your CS6114,CS6114-2 is designed to mount on a standard wall mounting plate. Refer to the steps below to wall mount your CS6114,CS6114-2 cordless phone: 1. Plug the provided line cord and the power cable to the socket at the bottom of the base respectively. 2. Thread the line cord and power cable through the corresponding slot. Plug the other end of the line cord and the power cable into the telephone wall socket and the power socket respectively. 3.

TALK ON / SPEAKERPHONE In idle / pre-dial mode: Press to post dial, press again to turn on the speaker, press again to turn off the speaker. While the handset is ringing: Press to answer the call.

3.4 Menu Structure When the handset is switched on and in idle mode: 1. Press 2. Press p q to move through the available options. Press to select a menu option or the to return to the previous screen, or press and hold to return to standby mode. 3. to enter the main menu.
3.5 Text and Digit Entry Table The following table shows you where each letter and punctuation character can be found. Respective character table will be used when corresponding menu language is selected. This will be helpful when storing a name in the phonebook and renaming your handset. In editing mode, a cursor is displayed to indicate the current text entry position. It is positioned at the right of the last character entered. Notes 1.
4. Use your phone 4.1 Switch ON/OFF the Handset When the handset is in idle mode, press and hold switch the handset on, press and hold . 4.2 to switch the handset off. To Make a Call 4.2.1 Preparatory Dialling 1. Enter the phone number, maximum 24 digits. If you make a mistake, press delete the last digit. 2. Press 4.2.2 to dial the number. Direct Dialing 1. 4.2.5 1. Call from the Call List In idle mode, press to access the call list. OR Press to access CALL LIST. Press again. Note The first entry in the call list will be displayed. Call from the Redial List Press to access the redial list and press p q to select the desired redial number. Press to dial the selected redial number.
4.4 Adjust Earpiece and Handsfree Volume There are 5 levels ( VOLUME 1 to VOLUME 5) to choose from for each of earpiece and handsfree volume. During a call: Press p q to select from VOLUME 1 to VOLUME 5. 4.5 Temporary Ringer Silencing When the telephone is ringing, you can choose to ignore the call and temporarily silence the ringer of the handset without disconnecting the call. The next call rings normally at the preset volume. 4.5.1 To Silence the Handset Ringer Press on the handset.
4.9 Set the Silent Mode In idle mode, press and hold to turn off the handset ringer. “RINGER OFF” will be displayed on the screen. In silent mode, press and hold to turn on the handset ringer. “RINGER OFF” will disappear. Note If the display already has another call related message e.g. “NEW CALL” then “RINGER OFF” will not be displayed. 4.10 Turn the Keypad Lock On/Off Lock the keypad to prevent accidental dialling while carrying the handset around. 1. 4.11.3 Delete a Redial Number 1. Follow Steps 1 and 2 in the section of Redial a Number from the Redial List. 2. Press then p q to select DELETE. 3. Press . The display shows “CONFIRM?”. 4. Press to confirm the setting. 4.11.4 Delete the Entire Redial List 1. Follow Steps 1 and 2 in the section of Redial a number from the Redial List. 2. Press 3. Press then p q to select DELETE ALL. NOTES • If OFF is selected, Power Fail Back-Up mode will not be enabled. If AUTO is selected, the registered handset(s) will display “PUT IN CRADLE TO PWR UP BS” when mains power interruption occurs. Place the handset with sufficient battery power (not lower than level 2) onto the main base unit to activate Power Fail Back-Up and start up the base.
4.13.3 Answer a Call Using Power Fail Back-Up Mode If there is only one handset registered to the base 1. When the phone rings, keep the handset on the main base unit and press to answer the call. The speakerphone will be turned on automatically and call is answered. 2. To end the call, press . If there is more than one handset registered to the base, the handset on the main base unit should be left as a power supply of the base and you can use the other handset(s) to receive calls like normal.
4.14.2 Transfer an External Call to Another Handset During an external call: then p q to select INTERCOM. 1. Press 2. Press to confirm. If you have only one other handset, it will ring. If you have extra handsets, press p q to select the other handset you want to transfer to, then press to confirm. 3. The external call is put on hold automatically and the called handset rings. 4. Press 5.
5. Private PHONEBOOK Your phone can store up to 70 private phonebook entries with names and numbers. Each phonebook entry can have a maximum of 24 digits for the phone number and 14 characters for the name. You can also select different ringtones for your phonebook entries. Phonebook entries are stored alphabetically by name. 5.1 1. Store a Number Entry in the Phonebok In idle mode, press to access the phonebook list. OR Press then p q to select PHONEBOOK. Press .
5.2 Review an Entry 1. In idle mode, press 2. Press p q to browse the phonebook entries. OR 1. In idle mode, press 2. Press 3. Press then p q to browse the phonebook entries. then p q to select VIEW. 4. Press to review the details of the selected entry. 5.3 . The first entry in the phonebook will be displayed. then p q to select PHONEBOOK. Dial an Entry 1. Press 5.3.1 to dial out. To Search Alphabetically Press the relevant keypad button, e. g.
5.7 Check Phonebook Status You can check how many entries have been occupied in your phone and how many phonebook entries are available for you to store in the phonebook. 1. While in the phonebook list, press 2. Press then p q to select PB STATUS. to view the Memory Status.
6. PHONE SETTINGS 6.1 Date and Time Settings 6.1.1 Set the Date Format You will need to set the correct date and time so that you can get to know when you received call list entries. If you have subscribed to Calling Number Display service, the date and time is set automatically for all handsets when you receive your first call. If you have not subscribed to Calling Number Display Service you can set the date and time manually. then p q to select HS SETTINGS. then p q to select DATE & TIME.
6.2 Handset Settings 6.2.1 Alarm You can use this phone to set an alarm clock. When the alarm time is reached, “ALARM ON” will flash on the display ringing with the alarm melody for around 45 seconds. Notes • You can press any key to disable the alarm. If however the snooze function is activated, the alarm will sound again at the end of the snooze period of seven minutes until you go into alarm settings and turn it off.
6.2.2 Set the Ringer Melody for External Calls You can set the melody to personalize your external ringer. A total of 10 melodies are provided for your selection. 1. Press 2. Press 3. Press 4. Note The respective ringer melody will be played while you are scrolling through the melody list. 5. Press 6.2.3 to confirm the setting.
6.2.5 Set Alert Tones A single beep is emitted when you press a key. You can turn on or off the key tone. You can also turn on the alert tones when low battery and out of range are detected. Low battery tone will be emitted while you are talking with the phone to alert you that you need to charge up your battery. then p q to select HS SETTINGS. then p q to select TONE SETUP. 1. Press 2. 6.5.2 Register an Additional Handset through the Menu 1. Press and hold on the base station for about five seconds, the base station has entered into registration mode. 2. Press then p q to select REGISTRATION. 3. Press . 4. Enter the 4-digit system PIN. 5. Press to confirm. Note If the handset registration is successful, you will hear a confirmation tone. The handset will automatically be allocated the next available handset number.
7. CALLER DISPLAY (NETWORK DEPENDENT) 7.1 Call List The call list information might not be available for every incoming call. The callers might intentionally block their names and / or telephone numbers. Call log display screen messages PRIVATE The caller is blocking the telephone number. UNAVAILABLE This caller’s number is unavailable. When the list is full, and a new call is received, the oldest entry will be deleted automatically. 7.
7.3 1. Store a Call List Number into the Phonebook 2. While in the call list, press p q to select the desired entry. Press then p q to select ADD TO PB. 3. Press 4. Press then use the keypad to edit the number if necessary. (See Writing Tips on page 24) 5. Press 6. Press then use the keypad to enter the name. 7.7 Flashing Message Indicator (FMI) The phone is designed to provide visual indication when a new voicemail is left from your local telephone provider. When a new voicemail is left, the icon will be displayed on the handset. After you have listened to your voicemail(s) the icon will disappear. Call Waiting Call Waiting tells you if a new caller is trying to contact you when you are already on the phone.

9. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty with your phone, please try the suggestion listed below. Solutions My telephone does not work at all. • Make sure the batteries are installed and charged correctly. For optimum daily performance, return the handset to the telephone base after use. • Make sure the power adapter is securely plugged into an outlet not controlled by a wall switch. • Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the telephone base and the telephone wall jack.
There is interference during a telephone conversation. My calls fade out when I am using the handset. • The handset may be out of range. Move it closer to the telephone base. • If you subscribe to high-speed Internet service (digital subscriber line - DSL) through your telephone line, you must install a DSL filter between the telephone base and the telephone wall jack. The filter prevents noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference.
Common cure for electronic equipment. If the telephone is not responding normally, put the handset in the telephone base. If it does not respond, try the following (in the order listed): • Disconnect the power to the telephone base. • Disconnect the batteries on the handset. • Wait a few minutes before connecting power to the telephone base. • Re-install the batteries and place the handset in the telephone base. • Wait for the handset to synchronize with the telephone base.

Care and maintenance instructions Take care of your telephone Your cordless telephone contains sophisticated electronic parts, so you must treat it with care. • Avoid rough treatment. • Place the handset down gently. • Save the original packing materials to protect your telephone if you ever need to ship it. Avoid water • You can damage your telephone if it gets wet. Do not use the handset in the rain, or handle it with the wet hands.
