Base Station Installation This section assumes that your network infrastructure is established and that your IP PBX phone service has been ordered and configured for your location. For more information about IP PBX configuration, please refer to the SIP Phone Configuration Guide. You can power the base station using a compatible VTech power adapter (sold separately) or using Power over Ethernet (PoE Class 2) from your network.
To mount the base station on a wall: AF T 1. Install two mounting screws on the wall. Choose screws with heads larger than 5 mm (3/16 inch) in diameter (1 cm / 3/8 inch diameter maximum). The screw centers should be 5 cm (1 15/16 inches) apart vertically or horizontally. 2. Tighten screws until only 3 mm (1/8 inch) of the screws are exposed. 3. Attach the mounting plate to the top of the base station.
R AF T 5. Place the base station over the mounting screws. D 6. Connect the Ethernet cable and power as described on page 11.
Handset Charger Installation 1. Install the handset charger as shown below. AF T • Make sure the supplied power adapter is securely plugged into an outlet not controlled by a wall switch. D R 2. Bend a small paperclip and gently insert it in the handset battery ON pinhole to turn on the cordless handset. • Without turning on the battery, the handset cannot be charged or operated. • The battery is fully charged after 16 hours of continuous charging.
CAUTIONS Use only the supplied power adapter. The supplied power adapter is not designed for use in any other devices. Misuse of it on your other devices shall be prohibited. To order a replacement, call 1-888-907-2007.
Finding your phone’s IP address If you want to use the Web User Interface to configure the phone, you need to know the phone’s IP address. You can obtain the phone’s IP address using either of the following methods: * Voice Menu 1. When the phone is idle, press this key sequence on the handset: TALK A digitized voice on the handset will announce Voice Menu options. 2. Press 1 for network configuration. 3. Press 2 for IP address. T A digitized voice on the handset will announce the IP address.
AF T 4. Under Select target models, select the CTM-S2115 checkbox. R 5. Enter your Password, and then click Apply. The default password is admin. The Admin tool begins scanning IP addresses. As the scan proceeds, the list of devices is updated. D 6. Look for your phone’s MAC Address. The table entry will display the phone’s IP address. Check the MAC Address against the LAN MAC or the WIFI MAC, depending on which connection (LAN or WIFI) is in use.
Voice Menu The Voice menu enables you to use the handset to query and change phone settings. To access the Voice Menu: 1. When the phone is idle, press this key sequence on the handset: TALK Û Û Û Û . A digitized voice on the handset will announce Voice Menu options. 2. Press the number key on the handset to select the desired menu option, or enter information. A list of menu options is shown in the diagram below.
Handset Battery Charging The battery must be fully charged before using the cordless handset for the first time. The CHARGE LED turns on when the handset is charging on the telephone base, charging base or charging stand. The battery is fully charged after 16 hours of continuous charging. For best performance, keep the cordless handset in the telephone base, charging base or charging stand when not in use. Replacing a Cordless Handset Battery The cordless handset battery is preinstalled.
