Telephone operation
Receive a call
When there is an incoming call, the telephone rings. The MESSAGE WAITING and IN USE LED flashes.
To answer a call:
Lift the corded handset from the deskset. The IN USE LED illuminates.
Place a call
Lift the corded handset. Listen for a dial tone and then dial the desired number, or press a Speed Dial key to dial a
programmed number. The IN USE LED illuminates.
End a call
Place the corded handset in the deskset.
Switch a call between the cordless handset and the telephone base speakerphone
To switch a call from the deskset to the telephone base speakerphone, press /SPEAKER on the telephone base.
To switch a call from the telephone base speakerphone to the deskset, lift the corded handset from the deskset.
Share a call
A maximum of four cordless handsets or desksets can be used at the same time on an external call.
To join a call:
During a call, lift the corded handset to join.
Volume
Listening volume and ringer volume can be adjusted from the deskset.
To adjust the listening volume:
During a call, press +/VOLUME or -/VOLUME to adjust the listening volume. The next call returns to the default listening volume.
To adjust the ringer volume:
At any time, slide the RINGER VOL switch on the right side of the deskset to adjust the ringer volume.
Call waiting
When you hear a call waiting tone during a call, press FLASH on the deskset to put your current call on hold and take the new
incoming call.
Press FLASH or the switch hook once rapidly at any time to switch back and forth between calls.
Mute
To mute the microphone:
During a call, press MUTE on the deskset. The MUTE key flashes when the mute function is turned on. You can hear the party
on the other end but they cannot hear you.
Press MUTE again to resume the conversation. The light on the MUTE key turns off.
Hold
When a call is placed on hold, any parallel phone that tries to use the same phone line will take the call off hold and pick the call.
To place a call on hold:
During a call, press HOLD on the deskset to place that call on hold. The IN USE LED flashes when the call is placed
on hold.
To release the call from hold, lift the handset from the deskset cradle.
USB port
The port on the side of the deskset can be used for charging devices (up to 1A @ 5.1V).
