Answering system settings
ÁÆÊ¸ÅÂÁÂæ
By default, the answering system is on and ready to record messages. You
¶´ÁÇÈÅÁÇ»¸´ÁÆÊ¸Å¼ÁºÆÌÆÇ¸ÀÂæµÈǼ¹ÌÂÈ·ÂÆÂÇ»¸´ÁÆÊ¸Å¼ÁºÆÌÆÇ¸À
does not answer calls and record incoming messages.
ÂÇÈÅÁÇ»¸´ÁÆÊ¸Å¼ÁºÆÌÆÇ¸ÀÂÁÂÅÂæ
Using a cordless handset:
1. When the handset is in idle mode, press MENU/
SELECT to
enter the main menu.
2. Press T
CID or SDIR to scroll to Answering sys, then
press MENU/SELECT.
3. Press T
CID or SDIR to scroll to Answer ON/OFF, then
press MENU/SELECT.
4. Press T
CID or SDIR to highlight On or Off, then
press MENU/SELECT to save the setting. You hear a
confirmation tone.
When the answering system is on, the handset shows
ANS ON.
Using the telephone base:
f Press /ANS ON/OFF to turn the answering system
ÂÁÂÅÂæ¢¹Ç»¸´ÁÆÊ¸Å¼ÁºÆÌÆÇ¸À¼ÆÇÈÅÁ¸·ÂÁ¼Ç
announces, “Calls will be answered.” If the answering
ÆÌÆÇ¸À¼ÆÇÈÅÁ¸·Âæ¼Ç´ÁÁÂÈÁ¶¸Æ“Calls will not be
answered.”

1. When the telephone base is in idle mode, press MENU/
SELECT to enter the

CID or SDIR to scroll to Answering sys, then press MENU/SELECT.
3. Press T
CID or SDIR to scroll to Answer ON/OFF, then press MENU/SELECT.
4. Press T
CID or SDIR to highlight On or Off, then press MENU/SELECT to
save the setting. You hear a confirmation tone.
Note: If the answering system is off and there is an incoming call, the system answers after 10 rings and
announces, “Please enter your remote access code.” For more information about remote access, see page
111.
