2. SOFTWARE/DRIVER INSTALLATION
Starttheprogram"GCP-Vx.xxSetup.exe"andfollowtheinstructionsofthesoftwareorofWindows.
Thesetupsoftwaresuggeststhedirectory"GammaCheckPro"forinstallationandcopiesthelesneededintotheselecteddirectory.The
installationprogrammealsocreatesaprogrammegroup"GammaCheckPro"under"Programmes"andalinkonthedesktop.
 BeforeyouconnecttheGeigercounter"GammaCheckPro"tothecomputer,alwaysinstallthedriversoftwareaccordingtothe
instructionsoftheinstallationprogramrst.
ThenconnecttheGeigercounter"GammaCheckPro"toafreeUSBportonyourcomputer.Forthis,thedevicehasaminiatureUSBinter-
face on the right side.
Windowsrecognisesthenewhardwarewhenitisconnectedforthersttimeandcompletestheinstallationoftherequireddrivers.Inthe
systemcontrolofWindows,DeviceManager,youcancheckwhichCOMporthasbeenassignedtotheGeigercounter"GammaCheckPro"
(e.g."COM7",seethefollowinggure).
The software installation is now complete.
