2. INTENDED USE
• Measuring and displaying electric parameters in the range of overvoltage CAT II for up to max. 600 V
against ground potential, pursuant to EN 61010-1 and all lower categories.
• Measurement of direct and alternating voltage up to 600 V
• Measurement of direct and alternating current up to 10 A
• Frequency measurement up to 60 MHz
• Capacity measurement up to 6 mF
• Measuring impedance values of up to 60 MΩ
• Continuity test (<70 Ω acoustic)
• Diode test
• Temperature measurement from –40 to +1000 ºC
The measurement functions are selected using the rotary control. The measuring range is selected
automatically for all measuring functions (except for diode and continuity tests). Manual setting is
possible at any time.
The VC611BT shows actual effective measured values (True RMS) in the direct and alternating
voltage and current measuring area.
Polarity is automatically indicated with the prex (-) in case of negative measured values.
The two current measuring inputs are secured against overload with ceramic high-performance fuses.
The voltage in the current measuring circuit must not exceed 600 V in CAT II.
The multimeter runs on six 1.5 V (C) batteries or at a voltage of 230 V/AC, 50 Hz. To save electricity,
the device turns off automatically after about 10 minutes of disuse (This function is activated when
running the multimeter on batteries or at 230 V/AC.). When operating at over 230 V/AC, you can turn
off the multimeter manually using the on/off switch (15) on the back. When running on batteries, the
BAT/AC switch (14) must be set from BAT to AC and the on/off switch (15) to off in order to turn off the
device before the automatic switch-off.
Measuring in damp rooms or under unfavourable ambient conditions is not permitted. Unfavourable
ambient conditions are: Moisture or high air humidity, dust and ammable gases, fumes or solvents,
thunderstorms or thunderstorm conditions like strong electrostatic elds, etc.
Only use measuring leads or accessories which are adjusted to the specications of the multimeter
when measuring.
Unauthorised conversion and/or modication of the device are inadmissible because of safety and
approval reasons (CE). Any usage other than described above is not permitted and can damage the
product and lead to associated risks such as short-circuit, re, electric shock, etc. Please read the
operating instructions thoroughly and keep them for further reference.
