14. Logging data
The data logger is only dust-tight and water-jet proof when the USB protective cap (12) and the
rubber seals (9, 10) are attached. This protection allows permanent logging in damp rooms and
outdoors.
Before use, make sure that the USB protective cap is rmly attached to the data logger and the
casing is completely closed.
Do not immerse it in water!
Avoid operation near strong magnetic elds.
a) Preparation
• Ensurethatrubbersealsareinthecorrectpositionsandthatthecapisrmlyattachedtothedatalogger.Placethe
data logger at the intended location. Position the data logger so that its light sensor (1) faces the light source at an
angle of 90°. Keep a safe distance from hot light sources. Heating up the data logger may cause a measurement
error (see technical data, operating conditions).
• Remove the protective cap to insert/replace the battery or to read the data stored on a computer. Remove the
protective cap from the device.
• Attachtheprotectivecaprmlyontothedataloggerbeforethenextrecording.
b) Calling up the function menu
• To call up the function menu, press the “DOWN” button (6).
• Press the “DOWN” button (6) repeatedly to display the last logged measurements in succession, the logger ID
andthestart/stopmodeselectedduringtheconguration.
c) Launching logging
• Thestarttimeoftherecordingdependsonthecongurationfor“Loggingstartconditions”.
• Whenthedataloggerstartslogging,“ ” appears on the LC display (5).
• “P”indicatesthatthedataloggerisreadyforrecording;itgoesoffassoonasthedataloggerstartsrecording.
d) Stopping logging
• Therecordingstopsdependingonthecongurationfor“Loggingendconditions”.
• If“None”isselectedastheloggingendcondition,recordingmightstopdependingonthe“Loggingstartcondi-
tions” setting.
• Whenthedataloggerstopslogging,“ ” appears on the LC display (5).
