The NCV function (non-contact voltage detection) is used to detect the presence of alternating
voltage in conductors. The NCV sensor (1) is located in the tip of the current sensor.
Bring the NCV sensor as close as possible to a conductor. The
distance may not exceed max. 10 mm. If an alternating voltage
is detected, the red NCV LED (3) ashes and a beep sounds.
The display shows the signal strength using 4 arrow symbols.
Due to the high sensitivity of the NCV sensor, the LED may light
up in the case of static charges. This is normal and not a
malfunction.
Always test the NCV rst on a known AC voltage source
to prevent false reads. False reads pose a risk of electric shock.
