2. INTENDED USE
- Measuring and displaying electric parameters in the range of measurement category CAT
III up to 600 V against earth potential, pursuant to EN 61010-1 and all lower measuring
categories. The meter must not be used in the measuring category CAT IV.
- Measurement of alternating current up to 400 A
- Measurement of direct and alternating voltage up to 600 V
- Temperature measurement from –20 °C to +760 °C
- Measurement of resistances up to 20 MΩ
- Continuity test (<50 Ω acoustic)
- Diode test
- Contact-free AC voltage detection “NCV”
The measurement functions are selected using the dial switch. The measuring range is select-
ed automatically for measuring functions voltage and resistance.
The alternating voltage and alternating current measuring range display arithmetic averages.
Polarity is automatically indicated with the prex (-) if the measured values are negative.
The current measurement takes place contact-free via the unfoldable current probe. The
circuit does not need to be interrupted for measurement. The current probe is also intended
and approved for measurement on uninsulated, actively dangerous conductors. The voltage
in the measuring circuit must not exceed 600 V. Use of personal protection equipment is
recommended for measurements in CAT III environments. The meter must not be used in the
measuring category CAT IV.
The contact-free AC voltage detection serves to track and detect 230 V/AC
power lines. This function is not specied and must not be used to determine freeness from
voltage.
The multimeter is operated with two conventional 1.5 V micro batteries (type AAA, LR3 or
same build). The device must only be operated with the specied battery type. Rechargeable
batteries must not be used due to the lower cell voltage and capacity.
Automatic deactivation switches off the device after approx. 15 minutes when no button has
been pushed on the device. This prevents premature discharging of the battery. This function
cannot be deactivated.
