• To prevent scratch marks and discolouration, always use suitable protection when
placing the charger on valuable furniture. The same applies to the rechargeable
batteries.
• Do not use the charger inside vehicles.
• The charger must be installed, used and stored in areas that are inaccessible to
children. Children may accidentally short-circuit the rechargeable batteries, which
cancauseareorexplosion.Fatalhazard!
• Do not use the charger in the immediate vicinity of strong magnetic/electromag-
neticelds,transmitteraerialsorHFgenerators.Thesecanaffecttheelectronic
control system.
• Make sure that the cables are not pinched or damaged by sharp edges. Do not
place any objects on the cables.
• Donotplaceanyobjectsthatcontainliquid(e.g.vasesorplants)onornexttothe
charger or mains cable.
• Liquidsthatgetinto theinteriorofthe charger(orinsidethe connectoronthe
mainscable)maydestroythedeviceandcauseafatalelectricshockorre.
• If you are using the mains cable to power the charger, observe the information in
section b) of the Safety Information.
• IfyouareusingtheDCinput(9–12V/DC)topowerthecharger,disconnectthe
charger from the power supply.
• Disconnect the batteries from the charger. Discontinue use and take the charger
to a specialist repair centre.
d) Operation
• Thechargercanbepoweredbyamainsvoltage(100–240V/AC)ora9–12V/DC
2,5Astabilizeddirectvoltage(e.g.viaasuitablepoweradapter).
• Never use both connection types at the same time, as this may damage the
charger.
• When handling the charger or rechargeable batteries, never wear metal or con-
ductiveobjects(e.g.jewellerysuchasnecklaces,braceletsorrings).Thismay
cause a short circuit in the rechargeable battery or charging cable, which can lead
toareorexplosion
.
• Never leave the product unattended during use. The charger comes with a range
of safety mechanisms to ensure safe use. However, malfunctions may still occur
from time to time.
