b) Power cable/mains voltage
• The mains socket that you use to connect the power cable must be easily accessible.
• Do not pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling on the cable.
• Do not touch the mains cable or charger if there are any signs of damage, as this
may cause a fatal electric shock!
• Switchoffthemainsvoltagetothesocketcontainingthemainsplug(switchoffat
the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then switch off at
the corresponding RCD protective switch).
• You can then unplug the mains plug from the mains socket.
• If there are any signs of damage, discontinue use immediately. Take the product
to a specialist repair centre or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
• If the mains cable is damaged, discontinue use and dispose of it in an environ-
mentally friendly manner. Replace it with an identical mains cable.
• Do not leave the charger unattended when it is switched on.
• Disconnect the charger from the power supply when you are not using it.
• Donotusethechargerinadverseweatherconditions(e.g.thunderstorms).
• Connectbatteriesdirectlytothecharger.Donotextendthecable.
• Onlyusethespeciedplugtypestoconnectcablestothecharger.
c) Setup location
• The charger must only be used in dry, enclosed indoor areas. It must not become
damp or wet.
• When the charger is powered by the mains cable, moisture can cause a fatal elec-
tric shock!
• Avoid direct sunlight, intense heat and cold temperatures. Keep the product away
from dust and dirt. The same applies to connected batteries.
• Placethechargeronaclean,levelsurface.Donotplacethechargeronamma-
blematerials(e.g.acarpetortablecloth).Alwaysuseanon-ammable,heatproof
surface.
• Keepthechargerawayfromammableorcombustiblematerials(e.g.curtains).
• Nevercovertheproduct,asthismaycauseittooverheatandcatchre.Never
insert objects into the ventilation holes, as this can cause a fatal electric shock.
• Never attempt to block the fan. The fan starts automatically when the charger
heats up.
