Intended Use
An isolated transformer creates a galvanically isolated and a earth potential free output volta-
ge (230V~/50Hz) that enables the operation of supply voltage-fed devices that are used for e.g.
repairing/maintenance, and are required in laboratories.
With the help of the isolated transformer the danger of an electric shock when repairing or
maintaining an electrical device is reduced, because when touching a defective device no elec-
tricity can flow through the body towards the earth. But there is still danger to life when both
output poles are touched at the same time!
This isolated transformer is based on safety class II and has an output power of 1500VA. It can
only be used on a power supply voltage of 230V~/50Hz.
Only one device can be connected or operated on the output of the isolated transformer.
Only one device that is suitable for operation on power supply voltage (230V~/50Hz) can be
connected to the isolated transformer.
These Operation Instructions are for this product. They include important advice for the initial
start-up and operation. Remember that even when you pass this product onto a third party.
Therefore keep these Operation Instructions for reference!

The isolation of the whole product must not be damaged or destroyed. Do not
drill any holes into the casing; do not drill any screws into it.
• The isolated transformer must not be connected to a direct current (DC) source.
The isolated transformer only functions on alternating current (AC)
(230V~/50Hz).
• Do not wear any metallic or conductive objects, like necklaces, bracelets, rings,
etc., when using the isolated transformer or the user that is connected to it.
There is hazardous voltage on the output of the isolated transformer when it is
in operation! The output bushing must not be touched!
This product must not be exposed to mechanical strain.
This product must not be exposed to extreme temperature (<0°C or >40°C),
direct sunlight, vibration or humidity.
This product can only be used in a dry indoor area; it should not get damp or
wet; danger to life through electric shock!
Condensation can develop when this product is brought from a colder room to
a warmer room.
Wait until the isolated transformer has reached room temperature before con-
necting it to the voltage supply source. Otherwise there is danger of electric
shock!
Place the isolated transformer on a surface that is large enough, even and sta-
ble.
Never insert items into the grill of the product or hinder the ventilation in any
way. Never cover this product. Keep sufficient distance from other devices (at
least 10cm).
Do not place containers filled with liquid on or next to the isolated transformer.

Operation
Please note the following operation instructions!
• Only one single consumer can be connected to the output bushing of the switched on isola-
ted transformer. Never use e.g. multi-outlet power cords, etc.!
• Turn off the consumer that is supposed to be connected to the output bushing of the isola-
ted transformer.
When a device that is switched on is connected to the output bushing of the swit-
ched on isolated transformer, it can result in the generation of sparks.
The power consumption of the consumer that is supposed to be connected to the isolated
transformer must only have a maximum of 1500VA (see “Technical Data”). Otherwise the
isolated transformer will be overloaded and damaged, so there is danger to life through elec-
trical shock!
• When the isolated transformer is not needed, disconnect it from the voltage supply source by
disconnecting it from the mains socket.
Never use bare wires or loose connections to connect a consumer to an output bushing of
the isolated transformer. Pay attention that all cable/plug connections are secured and safe
before turning the isolated transformer on.
After that proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the isolated transformer.
2. Insert the power plug (6) of the isolated transformer into the correct mains socket
(230V~/50Hz) of the official supply grid. The red control lamp (2) will light up.
3. Switch off the consumer.
4. Connect the consumer to the output bushing (1) of the isolated transformer.
5. Switch on the isolated transformer using its on/off switch (4).
6. Switch the consumer on.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free for you; never open or dismantle it!
Switch the isolated transformer off before cleaning it and disconnect it from the mains voltage
by unplugging it! Disconnect a potential connected consumer from the output bushing of the
isolated transformer.
Only clean the isolated transformer with a dry, clean and soft cloth. Dust can very simply be
removed with a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Replacing a Fuse
If the control lamp on the isolated transformer is no longer illuminated, or a consumer that is
connected to the isolated transformer does not function, check both fuses of the isolated trans-
former.
Please do the following:
1. Switch off the isolated transformer and disconnect it from the mains voltage, unplug the
power plug (6) from the mains socket!
2. Disconnect a potentially connected consumer from the output bushing of the isolated trans-
former.
3. Turn the two fuse holders (3 & 5), one after the other, with a screwdriver, under slight pres-
sure, a quarter turn anti-clockwise and pull out the fuse halter.
4. Check the fuses. Replace a defective fuse with a new fuse of the same type (5 x 20 mm) and
with the same parameter (T8,0A/250V).
Never bypass the fuse! Danger to life through electric shock, apart from that dan-
ger of fire through overloading!
5. Reinsert the safety halter and secure it through applying slight pressure with the screwdri-
ver in a clockwise direction until it is in place.
Disposal
In concern for our environment and to recycle the used resources as much as pos-
sible, the user is asked to take the used and/or defective device to the public col-
lection point for the disposal of electrical appliance waste.
The sign of the rubbish bin with the black bar through it means that this product
has to be taken to a collection point for electronic waste to ensure the best pos-
sible recycling of resources.
