Before you connect the DSO to a computer, install the measurement program.
Switch on the computer and start the operating system.
Insert the enclosed software CD into the CD drive and close it. The automatic start mode will automatically
start the installation of the measurement program.
If this does not happen automatically, start the program “setup.exe” by double-clicking on the drive holding
the CD-ROM in the Explorer of your operating system. The software installation will start.
Please follow the on-screen instructions.
In the start menu’s program manager, a new folder called “DSO-XXXX” is created.
Plug the round DC plug of the mains adapter into the power supply jack (12) on the back of the DSO and
connect the mains adapter to a mains socket. The status LEDs (6) will light up.
Connect the provided USB connection cable with a free USB port at your computer and then with the USB
connection (11) at the DSO.
The operating system recognises the new hardware and starts the “Hardware Wizard”.
Follow the on the screen instructions.
Choose the installation option “Install software automatically (recommended)” and press “Continue”.
The system searches for the compatible driver. Follow the instructions on screen until, you are asked to
restart the operating system. Restart the computer, to update the new installation.
Start the computer and connect the USB connector from the computer to the DSO, before starting the
program. Open the start menu, or the “DSO-XXXX” program on the desktop screen, by double-clicking on
the icon.
The measurement program’s start screen appears and initialises the DSO. Select your model, if necessary.
The DSO is ready for use.
Connect the test probe for the measurement input at the input for CH1 to CH4 (2 - 5). The generator output
occurs at the BNC output “OUTPUT” (8).
Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning the device:
Do not use any scouring cleansers, petrol, alcohol or the like to clean the product. These might attack the
surface of the device. Furthermore, the fumes are hazardous to your health and are explosive. Moreover,
you should not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers or metal brushes or similar implements for cleaning.
For cleaning the device or the display and the measuring cables, use a clean, slightly damp, fuzz-free,
antistatic cloth.
