Information

Check the measuring device and its measuring leads for any damage before each metering.
Never take any measurements if the protecting insulation is defective (torn, missing, etc.).
The measuring accessory may not be used anymore and must be replaced.
Do not use the Oscilloscope just before, while or shortly after a thunderstorm (lightning!/ high-
energy overvoltage!). Please make sure that your hands, your shoes, your clothing, the oor,
switches and switching components are dry.
Do not use in the immediate vicinity of:
- strong magnetic or electromagnetic elds
- transmitting aerials or HF generators
- These can distort the measurement.
Use only measurement leads and accessories for the metering that match the specications
of the oscilloscope / frequency generator.
If a safe operation can no longer be assumed, the device must be put out of operation and
secured against unintended operation. Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- does not function any longer and
- the instrument was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress in transit.
Never switch the device on immediately after having taken it from a cold to a warm environ-
ment. The condensation that forms might destroy your device. Allow the device to reach room
temperature before switching it on.
Do not disassemble the product! There is a risk of fatal electric shock!
Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since it could become a danger-
ous plaything for children.
Please handle the product carefully. The product can be damaged if crushed, struck or
dropped, even from a low height.
You should also heed the safety instructions in each chapter of these instructions.
Never exceed the maximum admissible input values. Never touch
circuits or parts of circuits when they may contain voltages greater
than 30 V/ACrms or 30 V/DC! Risk of fatal injury!
Before making measurements, check the connected measuring leads
for damage such as cuts, cracks or pinches. Defective measuring
cables must no longer be used! Risk of fatal injury!
During metering, do not grip beyond the tactile grip area on the test
probes.
Measurements in circuits >30 V/AC and >30 V/DC may be carried
out only by specialists and trained persons who are familiar with the
pertinent regulations and the resulting dangers.
Follow the necessary safety instructions, regulations and protective
measures for the intrinsic safety.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Regularly check on the technical safety of the device and the
measuring leads, e.g., for damage of the housing or kinks, etc.
Live parts may be exposed, if you open covers or remove parts – unless you can do this by
hand.
The connected lines must be disconnected from the measuring instrument and all
measuring objects prior to cleaning or repairing the device. Turn the oscilloscope on.
FUSE REPLACEMENT
Always adhere carefully to the safety instructions, if you replace fuses!
Make sure that only fuses of the type stated and rated current specied are used as a
replacement. Do not use incorrect or repaired fuses and do not bypass the fuse holder - this
could lead to a re.
Never operate the meter when it is open. !RISK OF FATAL INJURY!
TROUBLESHOOTING
Repairs other than those described in the operating instructions must only be carried out by
an authorised skilled person. If you have questions concerning the use of the meter, please
contact our technical support team.
