6. HANDLING RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
• Rechargeablebatteriesarenotoys.Alwayskeepbatteriesoutofthereachofchildren.
• Donotleaverechargeablebatterieslyingaroundopenly.Childrenorpetsmayswallowthem.Ifswallowed,consult
adoctorimmediately!
• Rechargeablebatteriesmustnotbeshort-circuited,takenapartorthrownintore.Thereisariskofreand
explosion!
• Leakingordamagedrechargeablebatteriesmaycausecausticburnsiftheycomeintocontactwithskin.Therefo-
re you should use suitable protective gloves for this.
• Donotrechargenormal,non-rechargeablebatteries.Thereisariskofreandexplosion!
• Non-rechargeablebatteriesaremeanttobeusedonceonlyandmustbedisposedofproperlywhenempty.
• Batteriesmustnotgetdamporwet.
• Neverleavethecharging/dischargingbatteriesunattended.
• Pleaseobservethecorrectpolarity(plus/+andminus/-)wheninsertingbatteriesintothecharger.
• Donotcharge/dischargeanybatterythatisstillhot(e.g.causedbyhighcharge/dischargecurrents).Allowthe
battery to cool down to room temperature before attempting to charge or discharge it.
• Nevercharge/dischargedamaged,leakingordeformedbatteries.Thiscanresultinareorexplosion!Disposeof
any unusable rechargeable batteries in an environmentally compatible fashion. Do not continue to use them.
• RechargestandardandNiZnrechargeablebatteriesaboutevery3monthsandrechargeablebatterieswithlow
self-dischargeeverythreeyears.Otherwise,so-calleddeepdischargemayresult,renderingtherechargeable
batteries useless.
• Neverdamagetheexteriorcoverofabattery.Thereisariskofreandexplosion!
