PIN Personal Identification Number.
PPP Point to Point Protocol. PPP authentication provides that a host, before establishing a PPP
connection, may require that the other host uniquely identify itself using prearranged, secure data known to
both hosts. This is in the form of a PPP Username and PPP Password pair.
Protocol The rules of order by which a communications network is operated.
POTS Plain Old Telephone System (or Service).
PUK Personal Unlocking Code. Used in GSM mobile phones to unlock a locked SIM.

USIM Universal Subscriber Identity Module. A Universal Subscriber Identity Module is an application for
UMTS mobile telephony running on a UICC smart card which is inserted in a 3G mobile phone.

delivery of voice information using the Internet Protocol (IP).
