VOLKTEK NSH-5509 MANAGED 8-PORT 10/100 + 1-PORT 100-FX SWITCH

The xxx’s represent values between 0 and 255 and the user should enter their own IP

address in this form. The configuration program will not accept anything outside this

format. Remember to separate each part of the address with a period (dot). For example:

NSH-5509# config terminal

NSH-5509(config)# ip 192.168.99.222

NSH-5509(config)# netmask 255.255.255.0

NSH-5509(config)# gateway 192.168.99.1

4. These system parameters are invalid until you save configuration with “write

memory” command. After you enter “write memory” command, the system will

auto restart immediately.

NSH-5509(config)# exit

NSH-5509# write memory

It takes a few moments to write memory...

NSH-5509# write memory $$$ Restart system....!!!

After the system restarts completely, you can type in “show ip” command to verify

system settings.

NSH-5509# show ip

[eth0] Network Configuration:

MAC Address : 00:0B:04:09:03:07

DHCP Client: Disabled

IP Address: 192.168.99.222

Netmask : 255.255.255.0

Gateway : 192.168.99.1

When the address has been changed, please make a note of the new address, and

keep it in a safe place. With HyperTerminal, the command lines are the same as that for

telnet.

Note: IP addresses are unique. If an address isn’t available, please contact the

appropriate authorities to apply for one.
