Volkswagen‘s in-house crash tests are carried out at speeds higher than those required by DIN 75302, ISO/PAS 11154 and the “City Crash” test – Because Volkswagen believes that its own “City Crash Plus” at 30 km/h and a 20 % overload on the roof is more realistic than the standards set by DIN and ISO. The City Crash test simulates a rear-end collision in the inner city at a moderate speed of approximately 17 km/h.
