2.4 Connect in USB Modem Mode
In USB Modem mode, you connect your Vodafone Mobile Broadband Hotspot to your
computer with the USB cable. The USB cable will power the Vodafone Mobile Broadband
Hotspot while it is plugged in. This is a single user mode, and you cannot use WLAN
connections.
Windows:
➊ Make sure the Vodafone Mobile Connect software is running.
The first time you plug the Vodafone Mobile Broadband Hotspot into a PC using a USB
cable, the device will automatically install the Vodafone Mobile Connect software. The
system tray icon will appear in the system tray.
Note: If the system tray icon is not present, double-click the Vodafone Mobile Connect
desktop shortcut to launch the software.
➋ Right-click the system tray icon and select Connect.

➋ To see network and connection status also, right-click the system tray icon and select
Open Vodafone Mobile Connect.
➌ Click Connect.
When you have successfully connected to the network, the aerial diagram will be animated
showing the signal being broadcast.
