donotremoveorchangethefollowingoptions:

ethernet[n].generatedAddressOffset
uuid.location
uuid.bios
ethernet[n].present
Intheseoptions,[n]isthenumberofthevirtualnetworkadapter,forexample0.
Assign the Same MAC Address to Any Virtual Machine Manually
AssigntheMACaddressmanuallyinsteadofallowingWorkstationtoassignitto
guaranteethefollowing:
ThesameMACaddressisassignedtoagivenvirtualmachineeverytimeyou
poweriton,evenifthevirtualmachineismoved.
AuniqueMACaddressisprovidedforeachvirtualmachinewithinanetworked
environment.

OnaLinuxhost,avirtualmachinecreatedwithanearlierVMwareproductmight
haveaconfigurationfilewitha.cfgextension.

OTETopreserveavirtualnetw orkadapter’sMACaddress,youmustbecarefulnot
toremovetheadapter.Ifyouremovetheadapterbutlaterre‐createit,theadapter
mightreceiveadifferentMACaddress.
