Expression
A regular expression that identifies the file.
Directives Description of the parser method.
Created By Indicates who created the custom information type.
Creation Date Indicates when the user created the custom information type.
Last Modified By Indicates the last user who modified the custom information type.
Last Modified Date Indicates when the user last modified the custom information type.
To enable custom information types that VCM does not report to the change log, contact VMware
Technical Support.
Add, Edit, or Clone Custom Information Types for Linux and UNIX
Administration > Settings > UNIX > Custom Information Types > Add, Edit, or Clone
You can add, edit, or clone a custom information type.
Wizard Page Descriptions
The Change Setting wizard includes the following pages.
Custom Information Type
Option Description
Name Name of the custom information type.
Description Meaningful description for the custom information type.
Add, Edit, or Clone Custom Information Type
Defines the regular expression and the parser directive.
Option Description
Identificationî ±Expression A regular expression that identifies the file to be parsed.
VCM matches the files identified by a custom information
collection filter against this expression.
For example, the identification expression for the
builtin:group custom information type resembles:
