DHCPdoesnotworkwithfencing,anetworkarchitecturethatallowsmultipleusersto
workwithliveinstances
ofthesamevirtualmachineconfigurationonthesame

TouseastaticIPaddress,youcanenteranIPaddressmanuallyorusethestaticIPpool.
ThepoolrequiresyoutospecifyanIPrange,DNSsuffix,gateway,netmask,andDNS
information.
YoucanaddanunlimitednumberoffIPaddresses.ThestaticIPpool
workswithnetworkfencing.
Whenyoucreateavirtualmachinefromatemplate,andyouselectastaticIPallocation
method,Stage ManagerallocatesanIPaddressfromtheIPpooltothevirtualmachine.
ThisIPaddress
stayswiththevirtualmachinethroughthevariousoperationsin
Stage Manager.WhenyoudeleteallinstancesofthevirtualmachinewiththisIP
address,Stage ManagerreleasestheIPaddresstotheIPpool.
Ifyoudeployaconfigurationinfencedmode,Stage ManagerallocatesanadditionalIP
addressfromtheIPpool
andassignsitastheexternalIPaddressforeachvirtual
machineintheconfiguration.YoucanusetheexternalIPaddresstoaccessthevirtual
machinefromoutsidethefencedconfiguration(forexample,fromyourdesktop).
Whenyouundeploythisconfiguration,Stage ManagerreleasestheIPaddresstotheIP
pool.
