Ready States
ThefollowingstatesaffecttheReadystatusofhosts:
NotSupported–HostisrunningavirtualizationplatformthatStage Manager
doesnotsupport.YoucannotusethishostforStage Manageroperations.
NotPrepared–Hostisrunningasupportedvirtualizationplatformbutthehostis
notyetpreparedforStage Managermanagement.See“Preparingand
UnpreparingESXServerHosts”onpage 76.
PendingUpgrade–Hostispreparedbutrunninganolderversionofthe
Stage ManageragentsoftwarethantheStage Manager Serversoftware.
Stage Managerdisablesoperationsonthishostuntilyouusethepop‐upmenuin
theHoststabtoupgradetheagent.
NoManagedResourcePools–Hostispreparedbuttheresourcepoolsattached
toStage Managerdonotuseit.Thiscanoccurwhenresourcepoolsbecome
detachedfromStage Manager,orwhenthehostmovestoadifferentresourcepool
inVirtualCenter.Stage Managerdoesnotusethishostformostoperations.

canunpreparethehosttoremoveitfromthelistofhostsavailableforusein
Stage Manager.Otherwise,Stage Managerkeepsthehostandmakesitavailableif
youattacharesourcepoolthatusesit.Stage Managerrenamesthedefault
portgroupwhenthisconditionoccurs.
DefaultPortgroupUnavailable–Hostispreparedbutthedefaultportgroupthat
Stage Managerusesforconnectingitsvirtualmachinesisremovedfromthehost.
Available States
ThefollowingstatesaffecttheAvailablestatusofhosts:
PoweredOff–HostispoweredofffromVirtualCenter.Youcannotusethishost
forStage Manageroperations.
InStandbyMode–AdministratorortheDistributed Power Management(DPM)
featureputsthehostinstandbymodeinVirtualCenter.Youcannotperformmost
operationsonthishost,includingunregisteringavirtualmachinefromthehost.
