Ready States
ThefollowingstatesaffecttheReadystatusofhosts:
NotSupportedHostisrunningavirtualizationplatformthatStage Manager
doesnotsupport.YoucannotusethishostforStage Manageroperations.
NotPreparedHostisrunningasupportedvirtualizationplatformbutthehostis
notyetpreparedforStage Managermanagement.See“Preparingand
UnpreparingESXServerHosts”onpage 76.
PendingUpgradeHostispreparedbutrunninganolderversionofthe
Stage ManageragentsoftwarethantheStage Manager Serversoftware.
Stage Managerdisablesoperationsonthishostuntilyouusethepopupmenuin
theHoststabtoupgradetheagent.
NoManagedResourcePoolsHostispreparedbuttheresourcepoolsattached
toStage Managerdonotuseit.Thiscanoccurwhenresourcepoolsbecome
detachedfromStage Manager,orwhenthehostmovestoadifferentresourcepool
inVirtualCenter.Stage Managerdoesnotusethishostformostoperations.

canunpreparethehosttoremoveitfromthelistofhostsavailableforusein
Stage Manager.Otherwise,Stage Managerkeepsthehostandmakesitavailableif

portgroupwhenthisconditionoccurs.
DefaultPortgroupUnavailableHostispreparedbutthedefaultportgroupthat
Stage Managerusesforconnectingitsvirtualmachinesisremovedfromthehost.
Available States
ThefollowingstatesaffecttheAvailablestatusofhosts:
PoweredOffHostispoweredofffromVirtualCenter.Youcannotusethishost
forStage Manageroperations.
InStandbyModeAdministratorortheDistributed Power Management(DPM)
featureputsthehostinstandbymodeinVirtualCenter.Youcannotperformmost
operationsonthishost,includingunregisteringavirtualmachinefromthehost.
