Importing a Template from VirtualCenter
IfyouhaveanexistingvirtualmachineinaresourcepoolmanagedbyVirtualCenter,
onlyStageManageradministratorscanusetheImportfromVirtualCenterbuttonto
copythatvirtualmachineasatemplateunderStage Managercontrol.
Thisoperationinvolvesspecifyingastoragelease.See“ReviewingtheResource
CleanupTabonpage 103.
After
importingatemplate,youmustdeploythetemplatetoallowStage Managerto
assesstheVMware ToolsinformationanddisplayitintheVirtualMachineTemplates
page.IfUnknownorInstalled(RequiresUpdate)appearsintheVirtualMachine
Templatespage,installVMware Tools.Stage ManagerisdependentonVMware Tools

To import a template from VirtualCenter storage

2ClicktheImportfromVirtualCenterbutton.
3Entertheinformationforthetemplate:
a SelectthevirtualmachineintheVirtualCenterdirectories.
Blueiconsindicateavailablevirtualmachines.Youcanonlyselectvirtual
machinesthatarepoweredoffand
notalreadyunderStage Managercontrol.

Thenamemustcontainalphanumericcharacters(a–z,A–Z,0–9),hyphens,
underscores,orperiods.Themaximumlengthis64characters.

NOTEIfavirtualmachinehasVirtualCentersnapshotfiles,Stage Manageronly
