operatingsystems.Stage ManagerautomaticallyusesMicrosoftSysprepinsteadof
SIDgenbecauseit
isalreadybuiltintheseoperatingsystems.
YoumustbuildaMicrosoftSyspreppackageforWindows64bitoperatingsystems.

To build a Microsoft Sysprep package for guest customization

WindowsXP,Windows2003,ora
64bitWindowsoperatingsystem),inserttheWindowsOSCDintheCDROMof
theStageManagerServersystem.
IfyouhaveanISO,mounttheISOusingathirdpartytool.
2 LocatetheDEPLOY.CABfileinthe\Support\ToolsdirectoryontheCD.
3 Expandthe
DEPLOY.CABfileusingWinzip.exeoranothertoolcapableofreading
MicrosoftCABfiles.
YoucanalsouseWindowsExplorerinWindowsXPorWindows2003.
4CopythefilestotheappropriateStage ManagerdirectoryforMicrosoftSysprep
support.
Forexample,ifyouinstalledStage ManagerinC:\Program
Files\VMware\VMware Stage ManagerServer,copythefilestoone
ofthese
directories:
C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Stage Manager

CAUTIONStageManagerprovidesacustomizedsysprep.inffile.Duringthe
proceduretobuildaMicrosoftSyspreppackage,donotoverwritethisfilewiththe
sysprep.inffilefromtheWindowsCD.
