Taking Snapshots and Reverting to Snapshots
Afterdeployingaconfiguration,youcantakeasnapshotandreverttothesnapshotat
alatertime.Asnapshotcapturesacompleteconfiguration(includingallitsvirtual
machines)ataspecificpointintime.Stage Managerstoresthesnapshotwiththe
configuration.
Onlyonesnapshotforaconfigurationisactiveat
atime.Themostrecentsnapshot
replacesthepreviousone.
Asnapshotmightbeusefulasabaselineor“cleanslate”thatyoucanreturntowhen
runninganumberoftestsonthesameconfiguration.
To take a snapshot of a configuration
1Intheleftpane,clickServices.
2Movethepointerovertheservicenameandchoose
Detailsfromthemenu.
3MovethepointeroverthedeployedconfigurationnameandchooseSnapshot
fromthemenu.
TheconfigurationstatusdisplaysSettingtheRevertPoint.Afterabrieftime,the
configurationreturnstoitspreviousstate.
To revert a configuration to its snapshot
1Intheleftpane,clickServices.
2Movethepointerovertheservicenameand
chooseDetailsfromthemenu.
3MovethepointeroverthedeployedconfigurationnameandchooseRevertfrom
themenu.
ThestatusoftheconfigurationappearsasReverting.Stage Managerupdatesthe
thumbnailiconsforthevirtualmachinestoreflecttherevertpointstate.
Stopping Configurations
Youcanstopconfigurationsfromrunningusingtheundeploy,suspend,andpoweroff
operations.
Undeploying Configurations
UndeployingaconfigurationunregistersvirtualmachinesfromVirtualCenter.See
“UndeployingConfigurations”onpage 127.
