Undeploying Configurations with Force
Ifstandardundeployoperationsdonotwork,Stage Manageradministratorscan
forcefullyundeployaconfigurationtocleantheStage Managerdatabase.Anexample
ofthiskindofsituationiswhenanESXServerhostgoesofflineorsomeonemanually
removesavirtualmachinefromVirtualCenterinventory.Serviceuserscannotaccess
thisoption.
The
ForceUndeploymenuoptionisvisibleevenwhentheUndeploy,Undeploy‐Save
State,orUndeploy‐DiscardStatemenuoptionsareavailable.Althoughitisintended
forspecialcircumstances,theForceUndeploymenuoptionproducesthesameresults
astheUndeploy‐DiscardStatemenuoptioninstandardcircumstances.
To forcefully undeploy a configuration
1Intheleft
pane,clickServices.
2MovethepointerovertheservicenameandchooseDetailsfromthemenu.
3MovethepointerovertheconfigurationnameandchooseForceUndeployfrom
themenu.
Deleting Published Templates With Force After Host Failure
Ifastandarddeleteoperationdoesnotworkforapublishedtemplate,Stage Manager
administratorscanforcefullydeletethetemplate.Anexampleofthiskindofsituation
iswhenanESXhostfailurepreventsyoufromunpublishingthetemplate.
TheForceDeletemenuoptioncleansthetemplatefromtheStage Managerdatabase
but
notfromtheVirtualCenterinventory.Youcanmanuallyremovethevirtual
machinefromtheVirtualCenterinventory.
To delete a published template
1Intheleftpane,clickVMTemplates.
2MovethepointeroverthepublishedtemplatenameandchooseForceDeletefrom
themenu.
3Confirmthedeletion.
